"Forbidden Beauty"

For years forbidden.
An angel on a pedestal.
My own personal Galatea.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would awaken you.
But now you lie here in my arms.

Tomorrow brings with it a flood of trouble.
But right now, everything is right:
Our hearts beating in unison,
Your arm across my chest,
Your soft breathing.
My life has meaning.

We both know this can never happen again,
Which only makes us cling to each other more tightly.
Tomorrow we’ll begin forgetting this ever happened
In our attempt to avoid the consequences.
You’ll return to your life; I’ll be left with the memories.

All of this madness began, and now must end, with a kiss.
